Cox Hallett Wilkinson advises on the acquisition, leasing and registration of 15 aircraft on the Bermuda register

June 2006

Cox Hallett Wilkinson (“CHW”) has advised a number of Bermuda companies on the acquisition of five Airbus 310-200s and seven Boeing 737-500s aircraft from various US sellers and on the leasing of three Boeing 737-500 aircraft from Wells Fargo Bank Northwest National Association.  All 15 passenger aircraft have subsequently been registered on the Bermuda register.

The CHW team, comprising Ernest Morrison and Kerri Viera, advised on the corporate aspects of the acquisition and leasings with DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary advising on the English law aspects of the leasing transactions.

Ernest Morrison commented “These transactions represent a significant investment in aircraft and evidence of the growing stature of the Bermuda register.  We worked very closely with the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation and were able to complete the acquisitions, leases and registrations in a very short timescale”.
