Cox Hallett Wilkinson advises Guardian Digital Communications and Arqiva on £4.5bn acquisitions

Cox Hallett Wilkinson ("CHW") has advised Guardian Digital Communications, an Australian acquisition vehicle formed by Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group ("MCG") and Macquarie European Investment Fund II, in relation to the agreed acquisition of Airwave O2 and Arqiva, the UK broadcast group partly owned by MCG, in relation to the acquisition of National Grid Wireless

The CHW team, led by Jonathan Betts, advised on the Bermuda aspects of the £2bn acquisition of Airwave O2 and the £2.5bn acquisition of National Grid Wireless, including a AUS$2,225bn bank financing provided by Macquarie Bank, ABN AMRO and UBS and a AUS$725m offering of exchangeable bonds led by Macquarie Bank, ABN AMRO and UBS.

Jonathan commented "We are very pleased to have assisted on the Bermuda legal issues relating to these significant transactions. CHW advises a number of the large Macquarie infrastructure funds, including MCG, which now owns and operates the most extensive network of broadcast infrastructure in the UK and Australia.
